The USB port on the backend of PowerStore nodes is only to be used to recover the "admin" and "service" user account passwords, for PowerStore T model running PowerStore OS 2.0 and earlier, as documented within the following knowledge base article: PowerStore: Password reset and recovery for admin and service accounts. Other supporting procedures may be found within the Dell EMC PowerStore Security Configuration Guide as available on Dell Technologies Support.

Do not attempt to connect a USB device to the ports highlighted above for any other purpose. Use of the USB ports for other intents may lead to unpredictable system behavior. This includes transferring Support Materials (logs) from the appliance using USB for review by Dell EMC Global Technical Support. If Support Materials (logs) must be collected from the appliance for review using a direct physical connection to the appliance, see the following knowledge base article or contact Dell EMC Global Technical Support for assistance: PowerStore: How to generate and collect various logs from PowerStore.
