VxRail: VxVerify Health-check Fails for 'ds_perm' Test

Summary: One or more VxRail Manager checks returns event code 1 or 2, representing yellow or red alerts, respectively. These must be investigated prior to upgrading the cluster.

Symptoms

The ds_perm test is part of a series of health-checks that can be run from VxRail Manager or VxVerify, prior to an upgrade.

If one or more VxRM checks returns event code 1 or above, these must be investigated prior to upgrading the cluster.

When the test passes, it returns the following event:   
    0 (Pass)

If the test cannot access the necessary information or finds a warning level event, return the following code:    
    1 (Warn)

A failure, which must be addressed prior to any upgrade, returns the following code:    
    2 (Fail)

Cause

vCenter management account does not have permission at data center level.

Resolution

In vCenter UI, select the top-level datacenter.
1. Click Permissions and click add permission.
2. Choose the vCenter management user and assign correct role (VMware HCIA management).
3. Click Propagate to children.
4. Apply the permission and verify that the permission is added successfully.
