Symptoms

The privileges test is part of a series of health-checks that can be run from VxRail Manager or VxVerify, prior to an upgrade.

If one or more VxRM checks returns event code 1 or above, these must be investigated prior to upgrading the cluster.

  • When the test passes, it returns the following event:  0 (Pass)
  • If the test cannot access the necessary information or finds a warning level event, return the following code: 1 (Warn)
  • A failure, which must be addressed prior to any upgrade, returns the following code: 2 (Fail)

Cause

vCenter server management role has some privileges missing.

Resolution

Add the missing privileges to a role (like VMware HCIA Management).

Contact Dell Support to acquire the VxRail Toolbox to add the missing privileges.
