RESOLUTION:

1) Log in as an admin user in the Avamar Server and edit the mcserver.xml file. Change the following value to the correct SMTP port that the Customer is using. Ex: SMTP port 25  

 Example:
     BEFORE:
     admin@ave-easy:/usr/local/avamar/var/mc/server_data/prefs/>: grep "email_smtp_port" mcserver.xml<entry key="email_smtp_port" value="587" />
     
     AFTER
     admin@ave-easy:/usr/local/avamar/var/mc/server_data/prefs/>: grep "email_smtp_port" mcserver.xml<entry key="email_smtp_port" value="25" />

2) After above changes are completed and confirmed go ahead and restart MCS.   

 Example:
     admin@ave-easy:/ mcserver.sh --restart
