Symptoms
Running rpowermt commands return the following error, and the PowerPath/VE host shows as Disconnected in the PowerPath Management Appliance (PPMA) GUI.
ERROR: ELMC720: Unable to fetch token for communication . Please verify the PPMA details provided and ensure that PPMA instance is running.
Cause
PPMA shows that its unable to connect to the ESXi host owing to Authorization errors and soap faults from the host recorded in the logs.
It does seem to be some issue between the vCenter and the ESXi host.
Resolution
In this case, all the troubleshooting procedures from PPMA end were covered but the issue resolved post re-adding the ESXi host to the vCenter.
