Symptoms
In this scenario, the user upgraded the Intelligent Catalog (IC) from version 38.364.00 to 38.365.00 using PFxM 3.8.6 Build 79.
Querying the performance parameters for all SDSs shows that some SDSs do not have the same number of OS_THREADS configured:
scli --query_performance_parameters --tech --all_sds --print_all | grep OS_THREADS
SDS_NUMBER_OS_THREADS 8 8
SDS_NUMBER_OS_THREADS 10 8
SDS_NUMBER_OS_THREADS 8 8
Note: The difference in SDS_NUMBER_OS_THREADS per SDS does not impact the upgrade.
Impact
The expected performance might not meet expectations.
Cause
There is a flaw in the PFxM automation code that is not updating all SDS_NUMBER_OS_THREADS to be the same during an NDU.
Resolution
1. SSH to the PMDM and login using SCLI
2. Set the SDS_NUMBER_OS_THREADS on all SDSs accordingly:
Note: The difference in SDS_NUMBER_OS_THREADS per SDS does not impact the upgrade.
scli --set_performance_parameters --all_sds --tech --sds_number_os_threads <set_value> #example scli --set_performance_parameters --all_sds --tech --sds_number_os_threads 10 Successfully set the performance parameters
