Instructions

NativeEdge Orchestrator (NEO) deployment/upgrade issues:

If the user encounters NEO deployment/upgrade issues (and the script fails) the NEO installation script will create a log bundle that will help in troubleshooting the issue.
The logs can be found in a subdirectory "logs" where the user starts the installation from.

~/native-edge/logs#
delco-svc-log-dump_2025.01.09-15.08.05.log
edit_script_execution_2025.01.09-16.34.48.log
eo-image-loader.log
image-loader-log-dump_2025.01.09-14.56.57.log
install_log_dump_2025.01.09-15.08.05.tar.gz
install_script_execution_2025.01.09-14.41.48.log
neo-install-helm-output-2025.01.09-14.41.48.log
release_manifest.yaml

The user should supply all logs in this directory to troubleshoot NEO deployment issues.

Day 2 NEO issues:

See KB 000216838 (Dell NativeEdge: How to retrieve the NativeEdge Orchestrator logs bundle for troubleshooting), to gather logs to troubleshoot Day 2 NEO issues. Additional information like screenshots/recordings is also beneficial. Use of Chrome/Edge/Firefox Developer Tools can also be of benefit when reproducing issues.
Note: When gathering NEO logs, it is beneficial to note the time occurrence of the issue in question.

Blueprint Deployment issues:

The NEO Log tool (see KB 000216838 Dell NativeEdge: How to retrieve the NativeEdge Orchestrator logs bundle for troubleshooting) will gather information around Blueprint Deployment issues. Additional information regarding deployment issues is gathered using "Download logs" section in the Logs subtab of the deployment. On occasion when troubleshooting a Blueprint, logs from the NativeEdge Endpoint may also be wanted.

NativeEdge Endpoint deployment issues:

When deploying a NativeEdge Endpoint, logs from the Endpoint are not available in the NEO User Interface (UI) until the Endpoint has completed onboarding. If the user is troubleshooting an Endpoint deployment issue, then Service Console is available to gather relevant logs. Once the onboarding is completed, the Service Console cannot connect to the Endpoint,, and the user should retrieve the Factory OS Logs directly for the relevant Endpoint.

NativeEdge Endpoint issues:

NativeEdge Endpoints allow for the retrieval of multiple logs directly from the endpoint. These include:

  • Journald Event Logs
  • Rsyslog OS Logs
  • Authentication Logs
  • Kernel Logs
  • Syslogs
  • ECE VM Management Logs
  • ECE Agent Logs
  • PowerEdge Lifecycle Logs
  • Virtualization Service Logs
  • ECE Factory OS Logs
  • Cluster Logs

Important:

When gathering logs for NativeEdge Endpoints, it is beneficial to note the time occurrence of the issue in question. Any additional screenshots are also of benefit.

NativeEdge Endpoint Cluster issues:

When gathering logs for NativeEdge Endpoint Clustering issues, gather the same logs mentioned in the step above "NativeEdge Endpoint issues" but ensure you gather the logs as well from each node involved in the cluster.
