PowerFlex 4.x Deleting a node from RG fails

Symptoms

Having special characters in some of your network descriptions.

#<Encoding::InvalidByteSequenceError: "\xEF" on US-ASCII>

 

 

Networks with Special characters in the description

Example 1 

Having ( ) in the description is not allowed for being a special character. 

VMware-MGT-M

"description": "M3 vmware MGMT Network (983)"

 

Example 2 

 Having  "-"  between esxi and network is not allowed. 

ESXi Network

"description": "esxi-network"

 

Example 3

The subnet is defined in the network. "subnet": "255.255.254.0" Remove the network subnet masking reference from the description.

VMOTION_

"description": "vlan for vmotion network 10.10.10.10/23"

Having a network description with special characters

Resolution

Remove any Special characters from the Network Description.
