Summary: PowerEdge MX7000 running firmware 2.20.1x fails to download catalog files from some local or remote HTTPS servers.

Symptoms

When a catalog is created in Firmware Compliance > Catalog Management and adding a path to a catalog URL manually, the following error may be observed when the chassis tries to download the file:

Catalog Management showing failure to download catalog

Running
Processing repository information.
Attempting to connect to repository.
Downloading catalog failed.
Unable to download the catalog file. Make sure that the remote repository is available, also if a certificate was used in the request, then make sure is valid.
Task Failed. Completed With Errors.

Cause

The cause of the catalog failing to download is still under investigation.

Resolution

This may be fixed in a future MX7000 firmware release.

Alternative share types such as Network File System (NFS) and Common Internet File System (CIFS) can be used to download the catalog if hosted locally.

If downloading the catalog using an HTTPS share is required, OpenManage Enterprise (OME) can be used to manage the chassis and download the catalog successfully.
