Power Supply Alert Details

PPDMA DM5510 generated alert EVT-ENVIRONMENT-00065.

  • AC status: Pass, DC status: Fail - the power supply module has failed and requires replacement.
  • AC status: Fail, DC status: Fail - the input power supply is unavailable.

Cause

Power Supply Module Failure Indicators

The EVT-ENVIRONMENT-00065 alert identifies a specific power supply module by enclosure, module number, serial number, and model. The root cause is determined from the AC and DC status flags reported in the alert.

  • AC status = PASS, DC status = FAIL - The DC conversion circuitry within the power supply has malfunctioned, preventing the module from delivering DC power. This condition indicates a failed power supply.
  • AC status = FAIL, DC status = FAIL - Both AC input detection and DC output have failed, meaning the power supply is not receiving usable AC power. This indicates an unavailable or disconnected input power source.

These status combinations directly cause the alert, indicating that the power supply module cannot provide the required power to the enclosure.

Resolution

If the DC power failed, replace the specified power supply. If the AC power failed, check power supply cables and LED.

Replace with another working power supply.

If there are outstanding alerts for all power supplies in an enclosure, the system must be shut down before replacing any power supply.
