VPLEX: The HTML5 GUI prevents a user from using the underscore character for new Initiator Names

Symptoms

In the "Register Initiator Manually" mask, In the Provision Storage screen, a user is not able to type the character "_".  Even if a user does a copy and paste a name with "_"  the "OK" button to confirm stays greyed and cannot be used.

Example of issue under "Provision Storage" and "View By:" with "Initiators" selected, then having clicked on "REGISTER INITIATOR MANUALLY"

Even if you were to copy and paste a name already with the underscore in it, you cannot save the new name, the OK button remains greyed out.

Cause

This is an issue in he HTML5 portion of the code.

Resolution

Resolution:
Dell EMC VPLEX Engineering is currently investigating this problem. Once a fix is available this article will be updated.

As a workaround you can name the initiator without using the character underscore "_" and afterwards you can then rename the initiator with "_" by using the Initiator properties mask:
