Symptoms

As of NativeEdge Orchestrator release v 3.1.0.0, the NVIDIA RTX Ada series GPU is not supported on current NativeEdge-supported Precision platforms.

Attempts of loading NVIDIA RTX Ada series GPU on NativeEdge Precision platforms (5860XL Tower, 7960XL Tower, 7960XL Rack) results in GPU errors in the log and failure of passthrough the GPU.

Cause

NVIDIA RTX Ada series GPU is not supported on NativeEdge-supported Precision platforms unless this EdgeOS hotfix is applied.

Resolution

There is no workaround for the issue. The fix will be available in the next NativeEdge/Dell Automation Platform release.

NativeEdge Engineering has created a dedicated EdgeOS hotfix to address the issues described above. Once the hotfix is applied, the NVIDIA RTX xxxx Ada GPU can be passthrough over virtual machines without issues. 

Contact Dell Support Services to allocate a hotfix bundle to fix the issue.
