Cause

AppSync Server Log
WARN [Transaction Reaper]: TransactionReaper::check timeout for TX 0:ffff0ad25160:-560e9939:59cd1c31:27477c
in state RUN WARN [Transaction Reaper Worker 0]: TransactionReaper::doCancellations worker Thread
[Transaction Reaper Worker 0,5,main] successfully canceled TX 0:ffff0ad25160:-560e9939:59cd1c31:27477c
ERROR []: EJB Invocation failed on component UnixMountCommandBean for method public void com.emc.archway.commands.host.UnixMountCommandBean.deleteTargetDeviceList . . . . Transaction rolled back.

We send the agent to do a cleanup of target devices but then we do not get the response back within 5 min and hence server is timing-out.

Resolution

1. C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
Check to make sure XMS IP is in the hosts file on the AppSync Server.

2. C:\EMC\AppSync\jboss\standalone\configuration\standalone.xml.
Change the value from default of 300 to new value 1200 seconds - coordinator-environment default-timeout=1200

3. We changed Manage All Settings.
Change the value from default of 3600 to new value 7200 seconds for sftp.timeout.in.seconds Value=7200

4. A restart of the AppSync Server is required to put the STANDALONE.XML new value into effect.
