PowerVault ME5: SMTP notification email user password, does not allow all special characters

Symptoms
A PowerVault ME5 series administrator setting an email password when using TLS or SSL and get the following message:
"The value contains a character that is not allowed".
A review of both the ME5 CLI Reference and Administrator's guide do not show a limit for this field.
Cause
The Dell documents should show the following text for the sender-password field.
sender—password Optional. This parameter is required for a secure SMTP server (using TLS or SSL) and must correspond to the username specified by the sender parameter. The sender password can have a maximum of 32 bytes. The value can include alphanumeric characters and: ^_+:,.@
Resolution
Limit passwords to a maximum of 32 bytes, and only use alphanumeric characters along with ^ _ + : , . @
