VxRail: Event Code: MYSTIC014087 and VXR014087 - vSAN Health Alarm 'Stretched cluster without a witness host'

Symptoms

If you receive the following event code: MYSTIC014087 / VXR014087 - vSAN Health Alarm 'Stretched cluster without a witness host'

Cause

This alarm is triggered when the vSAN health service is unable to confirm whether a vSAN witness appliance (used in Stretched Clusters and 2-3 node remote site environments) has claimed its own internal vSAN disk group. This can be transient in nature but sometimes may be permanent.

Resolution

In vCenter click the cluster, then Monitor, then the vSAN Health to see if this issue is persisting. Also check the Configure, vSAN, Fault Domains for any signs of issues with the vSAN witness.
