Unisphere for PowerMax: After upgrading of vapp from 9.0.1 to 9.0.2.5 SMAS may not start. Made a softlink correction to address size restriction when upgrading. Solution at 5978.221.221: EEM 9.0.2.2, Tools 9.0.2.4, PXE 9.0.2.4
Workaround:
Perform the following steps to set the JBOSS_USER correctly in the smas startup script:
1. cd /etc/init.d
2. Edit smas file to update (and save) placeholder "<non-root-user>" with the value root in only one place if smas file contains JBOSS_USER="<non-root-user>", for example change
# Set defaults.
#JBOSS_USER=root
JBOSS_USER="<non-root-user>"
to:
# Set defaults.
#JBOSS_USER=root
JBOSS_USER=root
3. Start the smas service with /etc/init.d/smas start and check its status with /etc/init.d/smas start
Permanent Fix:
Fix 550547 addresses this issue and is available in the latest PowerMaxOS Service Pack Release for Level 5978.221.221.
