UEMCLI installation failed on a Windows OS in which VC 2010 is not pre-installed.

During the installation, uemcli will try to download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable package from the Microsoft official web http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/C/D/9CD480DC-0301-41B0-AAAB-FE9AC1F60237/vcredist_x86.exe. The download failed and the installation was rolled back.

The installation log (C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell EMC\Unity\Unisphere CLI\Logs\Unisphere_CLI_Install_xxx.log) display the following error :
 

Error occurred while installing the following Action, hence rolling back the installation....! Action Name:              Download File Action Action Description:       Download File Action : URL: http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/C/D/9CD480DC-0301-41B0-AAAB-FE9AC1F60237/vcredist_x86.exe Error Details as below: Connection with the specified server could not be established during Download File Action. Please check your firewall settings or URL and/or port number specified.

The download link of VC distributable package is redirected to a HTTPS URL. The uemcli packaging tool “installanywhere” doesn’t support https protocol download. 

Workaround:
Customer can pre-install VC distributable package manually from the below URL before install uemcli:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/C/D/9CD480DC-0301-41B0-AAAB-FE9AC1F60237/vcredist_x86.exe

Fix: 
Future Unity OE release will have VC distributable package included as part of UEMCLI package and eliminate need to download VC package during uemcli installation.
