PowerFlex: showevents.py fails due to event log database is malformed

Summary: The event log database disk image on one of the Metadata Managers (MDMs) became malformed.

Symptoms

 

The user is attempting to run the showevents.py script on the Primary MDM, and it is failing.

 

Events are not being recorded in the event logs.

The user sees the following message when trying to run the showevents.py script:

 

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "./showevents.py," line 293, in <module>
events = cur.fetchmany()
sqlite3.DatabaseError: database disk image is malformed

 

 

Impact

No events are being logged for the one MDM, and the customer is unable to run the showevents.py script.

Cause

N/A

Resolution

Move the current eventlog.db to another file name. For example, mv eventlog.db eventlog.dborig After moving the .db, restart the MDM service on that node. This creates a new db.
