This article provides steps for installing Dell Encryption Enterprise Self-Encrypting Drive Manager (formerly Dell Data Protection | Self-Encrypting Drive Manager) or Dell Encryption Personal Self-Encrypting Drive Manager.

- System requirements must be validated. For more information, refer to:
- Dell Encryption Enterprise Self-Encrypting Drive Manager must be downloaded and extracted from the Master Installer.

UI
The installation steps differ between v10.1.0 and Later, v10.0.0, v8.15.0 to 8.17.2, v8.7.0 to 8.13.0, and v8.0.0. Click the appropriate client version for specific installation steps. For more information, refer to How to Identify the Dell Encryption Enterprise and Personal Self-Encrypting Drive Manager Version.
v10.1.0 and Later
- Double-click
EMAgent_64bit_setup.exe.
- Select the language and then click OK.

- If any missing requirements are detected, click Install. Otherwise, go to Step 4.

- Click Next to proceed.

- Accept the terms of the license agreement and then click Next.

- Optionally, Change the installation location and then click Next.

- Select one of the following:
- Encryption Personal, click Next, and then go to Step 9.
- On-Prem Dell Managed Server, click Next, and then go to Step 8.

- From the Enterprise Server menu:
- Populate the Enterprise Server Host name.
- Optionally, change the Enterprise Server Port number.
- Populate the Security Server Host name.
- Optionally, change the Security Server Port number.
- Click Next.
Note:- The example, server.domain.com, will differ from the server fully qualified domain name (FQDN) in your environment.
- By default:
8888is used for policy changes.8443is used for preboot authentication connections.
- The default ports may differ from the port in your environment.
- Click Install.

- Upon installation, click Finish to close the UI.

- Click Yes to reboot the machine.

v10.0.0
- Double-click
EMAgent_64bit_setup.exe.
- Select the language and then click OK.

- If any missing requirements are detected, click Install. Otherwise, go to Step 4.

- Click Next to proceed.

- Accept the terms of the license agreement and then click Next.

- Optionally, Change the installation location and then click Next.

- Select one of the following:
- Encryption Personal, click Next, and then go to Step 9.

v10.4.0 and Later
Dell Encryption Enterprise or Personal Self-Encrypting Drive Manager can be installed in the CLI (command-line interface) through the usage of switches and parameters.
