Summary: Filter by attribute does not work properly when adding existing zones to a zoneset in NDFC.

This article applies to This article does not apply to This article is not tied to any specific product. Not all product versions are identified in this article.

Symptoms

When going to NDFC > Manage > Zoning > selecting a zoneset > Edit Zoning for that Zoneset > select a Zone > click Actions under Members section > and 'Add existing member' the 'Filter by attribute' does not work properly. When using the attribute '==' xxx, the proper output is shown. When using attribute 'contains' xxx, there is no output shown. The 'contains' Filter does not work, even when there are Members that contain xxx.

Conditions:
ND 3.2.1e
NDFC 12.2.2

Cause

Cisco bug CSCwm63175 (External Link)

Users have large amounts of members, and it takes a long time to go through all of them to select one or more wanted Members. If the Filter attribute with 'contains' worked properly, the user can find and select the member they want to add.

Resolution

Fix:

Upgrade to ND 3.2(2f) NDFC 12.2.3

Workaround:

User scrolls through all listed output to select the member they want or use a filter of '==' and provide the exact text.
