Symptoms

SRA command discover devices fails. Exception empty content is not valid for content model.

After a successful SRM recovery, the reprotect fails with role target when expected device with role promotedTarget.

Cause

The issue occurs when using empty volume groups with protection policies assigned.
When Site Recovery Manager (SRM) tried to discover devices, Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) replies with command failed - empty content is not valid for content model.
SRM does not support empty volume groups or consistency groups.

Resolution

Fix

The fix for this issue is for the next release of PowerStore Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) version 3.0.

Workaround

Remove the protection policies from empty volume groups in the PowerStore Manager user interface (UI).
