Symptoms
"cant run svc mount to prepare the reinstall image"
The command entered:
svc_mount -u
The error that appeared:
---ERROR:This utility can only be used in Service Mode.
Cause
The problem was that the SP had to be placed in service mode.
Resolution
The problem was that the SP had to be placed in service mode.
-In order to reinitialize the Dell EMC Unity system, both SPs must be placed into Rescue/Service Mode. The SP needs to be placed into Rescue Mode.
Perform the following:
spb:~> svc_rescue_state -s -->This will set the Rescue State flag on the SP
spb:~> svc_shutdown -r -->Reboot the SP and it will come back up in Rescue Mode
