PowerFlex SDC Installation Fail On AIX Server

Scenario

RPM pre-installation script fails with exit status 1 ( error).

Impact 

The user is unable to install an SDC on an AIX server

Cause

The uninstallation was not executed successfully or a reboot of the AIX was not conducted after uninstallation, as recommended. 

Resolution

Execute the SDC installation with the "--replacepkgs" flag.

For example:

root@oraemt1:/software/vxflex/PowerFlex_3.5.1_175_AIX7.2# rpm -Uvh --replacepkgs   EMC-ScaleIO-sdc-3.5-1000.175.aix7.aix7.2.ppc.rpm
