What’s changing in Microsoft Teams?

  • Office 365 Connectors in Teams are retiring. Microsoft is deprecating webhook‑based connectors and moving customers to Workflows; the retirement window has been extended, with migration guidance and milestones communicated through 2024–2026 (including support updates and a new webhook URL structure).
  • Third‑party device/app integrations that relied on the older Teams APIs are being discontinued.
  • Why it matters for Collaboration Touchpad (CTP): These Microsoft changes affect how third‑party integrations surface and control in‑meeting features (mute, camera, reactions, raise hand). Updating Dell Optimizer to 6.3+ ensures the best possible compatibility with the evolving Teams experience.

Required action for Dell users

  1. Verify your Dell Optimizer version.
    • If you are on Dell Optimizer 6.0 through 6.2.1, your system should receive the 6.3 update automatically. If not, manually download and install Dell Optimizer 6.3 from Drivers & Downloads. 
    • If you are on Dell Optimizer 4.2.3 or earlier, you must transition to the latest Dell Optimizer to maintain the full feature set, including continued support for CTP in Teams. See Dell’s Transition to the New Dell Optimizer guidance. 
  2. Reboot and test in a Teams call.
    • Confirm CTP actions (mute/unmute, camera toggle, raise hand) respond as expected in new Teams. (Classic Teams is fully retired and no longer available after July 1, 2025.) 

Zoom impact

No impact. Users can continue using Collaboration Touchpad with Zoom as they do today.

Note: For Latitude 7350 and Latitude 7450, only the Ultralight form factors of these devices have the Collaborative Touchpad option. Other form factors are not affected.
