An Avamar NDMP accelerator node must be shut down temporarily for maintenance or some other activity in the local data center.

The NDMP accelerator node can be shutdown using regular Linux commands.

Unlike the Avamar server, there is no need to perform any special actions on the NDMP accelerator node such as shutting down Avamar services.

To shut down an NDMP accelerator node:

  1. Check the Avamar Administrator activity monitor to ensure that no NDMP backups are in progress on this accelerator node.
  2. Log in to the NDMP accelerator node using PuTTY as the root user.
  3. Run the below command
     halt

    The accelerator node shuts down.

To restart the NDMP accelerator node

Power on the node. The services start automatically.
