Instructions

Procedure

  1. Open an SSH connection to the node and log in using the "root" account.
  2. Run the following command to rotate the log files.

    newsyslog -F

The -F option forces trimming of the logs. The newsyslog utility rearranges the files so that the current logfile is empty, and logfile.0 has the last period's logs in it. This option is useful for diagnosing cluster problems by starting with an empty log file.

For more information about the newsyslog command, review the manual for the newsyslog command.

man newsyslog
