Symptoms
NetWorker protection operations (backups, clones, so forth) are failing.
The NetWorker daemon.raw log file reports the following error for various NetWorker operations and processes:
Unable to bind socket to port 0 from connection port range 0-0: Cannot assign requested address.
Cause
This issue can appear on large NetWorker environments with a lot of jobs running. NetWorker ports are consumed, and additional processes are unable to start.
