PowerProtect Data Manager: Data Domain-Data Domain Boost Integration Fails, NFSv3 Not Enabled

PowerProtect Data Manager ServerDR backup fails with the following error.

The key line to notice is: 

"Unable to switch the DD Boost Configuration for the primary source"

Dell Data Domain Boost works over NFSv3. NFSv3 must be enabled. 

• When checking the Network File System (NFS) status on the Data Domain:

The NFS system is currently not active.

Enable the NFSv3 protocol on Data Domain to successfully integrate PowerProtect Data Manager with Data Domain, also for ServerDR and Recover PowerProtect Data Manager from server DR backups to work properly. 

• To enable NFS on Data Domain, from Data Domain SSH type:

nfs enable

Or

• Use PowerProtect DD System Manager UI to enable NFS:

Select Protocols > NFS > then click Enable on NFSv3 Status. 

Dell Data Domain Boost requires additional NFSv3. Ports 111, 2049, and 2052 should be open and available.
