PowerStore: PUHC to detect incomplete CP commands - off_release_incomplete_commands_check
Summary: The Pre upgrade health check (PUHC) off_release_incomplete_commands_check detects incomplete Control Path (CP) commands that are not in the approved list of commands allowed during NDU. ...
Symptoms
Pre-Upgrade Health Check (PUHC) fails with the following error: "Some control-path commands are incomplete. KB# 000269892. Please contact your service provider (off_release_incomplete_commands_check)". Error code: 0xE10050030400.
The health check is an off-release PUHC check that is contained in the Health Check thin package. See the Additional Info section of this article for information about the Health Check thin package.
As seen from the PowerStore Manager user interface (UI):
Cause
This check identifies if any Control-Path (CP) command that is not allowed to run during an NDU is in an incomplete state for more than four (4) hours.
IMPACT:
CP commands may get stuck for various reasons. Most notably this can occur when CP experiences blocked threads or Out Of Memory (OOM) conditions for an extended period of time.
This is a platform agnostic issue that can affect all PowerStoreOS versions. However, this scenario may cause NDU to fail after PUHC during the CP_Send_NDU_Command stage. In such a case, NDU rollback usually completes without issue, however a manual cleanup is required that would delay a planned NDU.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, contact technical support for assistance. Reference KB# 000269892 for expedited attention and resolution.
