PowerStore: Pre upgrade health check (PUHC) to detect if NVMe reservations are present on the cluster

Summary: The Pre upgrade health check (PUHC) off_release_nvme_reservation_check detects if NVMe Reservations are present on the cluster.

Symptoms

Pre upgrade health check (PUHC) fails with the following error: "NVME reservations are in use. Please contact your service provider. (off_release_nvme_reservation_check) ".

The health check is an off-release PUHC check that is contained in the Health Check thin package. See the Additional Info section of this article for information about the Health Check thin package.

As seen from the PowerStore Manager user interface (UI):

off_release_nvme_reservation_check PUHC failed

Cause

The check detects if NVMe reservations are present on the affected cluster. 

Impact

Upgrading from PowerStoreOS version 3.x to a later version may fail if NVMe reservations are present on the cluster.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in PowerStoreOS v4.2 and higher

A workaround this issue is available for upgrades to PowerStoreOS v4.1.x, contact technical support for assistance. Reference KB# 000269902 for expedited attention and resolution.
