IDPA pre-upgrade check: How to check ACM vm backups

Summary: This check must be done on an IDPA pre-upgrade to ensure that there is an ACM vm backup.

Instructions

Finding ACM vm backups

Steps:

1. In the AUI navigation pane on the left, click , and then click Asset Management. The Asset Management window is displayed.

2. In the domain tree, select the IDPA internal vCenter domain.

3. From the list of clients, select VirtualMachines.

4. Select DataProtection-ACM and In the Client Summary pane on the right, click VIEW MORE.

5. Click the Backup tab. A list of completed backups for this client is displayed. Any backup in this list can be used to restore the ACM vm. If the list is empty, please run an On-Demand backup of ACM vm.

6. To locate backups by date:

a. Click SEARCH.

b. Specify the date range in the From and To fields.

c. Click RETRIEVE. The list of backups for the date range is displayed.

How to run an On-Demand backup of the ACM VM

1. Click the Backup button.

2. Tick the Linux VMware Image box and click NEXT.

3. Click NEXT and leave default configuration.

4. Click Finish button and wait until the ACM vm On-Demand backups completes successfully.

5. Navigate to Activity and monitor ACM vm backup status.
