Symptoms

Under installationen af værtsbaseret Unisphere oprettes en postgres-bruger og -gruppe, og denne fejlmeddelelse vises:

Unisphere for VMAX Configuration Error. Installation will be aborted.

SMAS Database timeout cannot be started.

 

# service smas start

Cause

Kontroller, om postgres-brugeren i /etc/passwd Viser /sbin/nologin

F.eks.:

 

/etc/passwd:postgres:x:504:504::/home/postgres:/sbin/nologin
/etc/group:postgres:x:504:

 

Resolution

Sådan løses problemet:

  1. Skift /etc/passwd Så Postgres-brugeren har en gyldig shell. F.eks.: /bin/bash
  2. Afinstaller og geninstaller derefter Unisphere til VMAX.
