Symptoms

Gli utenti devono verificare se le LUN sono sottoposte a thin provisioning o meno.

Cause

Le LUN sono sottoposte a thick provisioning.

 

Resolution

  1. Utilizzare la Guida alla compatibilità VMware per verificare se VAAI è supportato per il modello di array. Dovrebbe essere supportata in quanto le altre funzioni VAAI vengono visualizzate come supportate.

  2. Secondo i documenti EMC, la funzione di recupero dello spazio morto VAAI è supportata solo per le thin LUN:
    "Unmap funziona con i datastore VMFS sottoposti a provisioning utilizzando thin LUN VNX".
