Symptoms

Gebruikers moeten controleren of de LUN's thin provisioned zijn of niet.

Met behulp van ESXi cli:

esxcli storage core device list -d naa.<wwn>

Cause

LUN's zijn thick provisioned.

 

Resolution

  1. Gebruik de VMware-compatibiliteitshandleiding om te controleren of VAAI wordt ondersteund voor het arraymodel. Het moet worden ondersteund zoals de andere VAAI-functies worden weergegeven als ondersteund.

  2. Volgens EMC-documenten wordt de VAAI-functie voor het vrijmaken van dode ruimte alleen ondersteund voor thin LUN's:
    "Unmap werkt met VMFS-datastores die zijn ingericht met behulp van VNX thin LUN's."
