Upgrading the PowerFlex management controller 2.0

Before upgrading the PowerFlex management controller 2.0, complete the following initial set of upgrade procedures:

  1. Planning for an upgrade
  2. Backing up the environment
  3. Configuring the PowerFlex jump server
  4. Downloading the upgrade files
  5. Performing health checks prior to the upgrade
  6. Verify and upgrade the CPLD firmware on PowerFlex nodes
  7. Upgrading PowerFlex Manager
  8. Preparing compliance files and OS images
  9. Configuring storage policies for upgrades
  10. Upgrading VMware vCenter
  11. Upgrading CloudLink Center
NOTE: The procedures covered in this section are only applicable to a PowerFlex management controller that uses PowerFlex storage.

 

Upgrading the PowerFlex management node

Use the manual procedures in this section to upgrade the PowerFlex management node (single non-HA node). This is applicable only for PowerFlex appliance.

NOTE:Ensure you upgrade the management virtual machine manually, in case of a PowerFlex management node with PowerFlex.

NOTE:The following procedures are only applicable to a PowerFlex management controller that uses vSAN storage.
