Symptoms

  • NetWorker license validation from the NMC returns the following errors:
/nsr/lic/dpa.xml: parse error: Start tag expected, '<' not found
Cannot read license file.
 
Licensing error
  • The license is valid.

Cause

The /nsr/lic/licspec.properties file is configured to accommodate an XML formatted license; however the license is in an ASCII format.

Resolution

Procedure:
  1. Copy the license file as dpa.lic.
  2. Edit the /nsr/lic/licspec.properties file.
    1. Comment out the license.technology line.
    2. Point the path to dpa.lic.

Example:

  1. Log in to NMC and validate the license.
