MFE ConGroup: BCV query performed erroneously

Symptoms

When LOCAL_SPLIT_PROTOCOL=SNAP is specified, a BCV query is performed erroneously. If the controller is 10.0.0.0 or higher, this could result in false error messages.

 

Users affected: Mainframe Enablers Consistency Groups V10.0.0 and above, Snap users for STD devices.

 

Cause

This is due to a software issue.

 

Resolution

If LOCAL_SPLIT_PROTOCOL=BCV is not specified, do not do BCVQUERY.

 

Permanent Fix:

  • For Mainframe Enablers 10.0.0, PTF SCA0008 has been developed to correct the issue. It is available to download from Dell Technologies Online Support.
