What has changed?

Dell Optimizer is an application for Dell computers that allows you to customize your settings for power, battery, display, collaboration touchpad, and so on. Dell Optimizer 6.0 offers a simplified set of performance and productivity-enhancing features for most Dell branded computers.

Dell Optimizer 6.x replaces the following applications for most Dell computers:

• Dell Optimizer (Version 4.2 and older)
• Dell Optimizer on ARM
• MyDell
• MyDell on ARM
• My Dell
• Dell Digital Delivery
• Dell Power Manager
• Dell Performance
• Dell Precision Optimizer
• CinemaColor for Dell
• PremierColor for Dell (excluding Dell Precision)

Dell Optimizer can configure the following depending on your computer platform:

• Extend the battery life and longevity of your computer with Intelligent Battery Extender and Dynamic Charge
• Tune the performance, power consumption, cooling, and fan noise on your computer with selectable thermal modes
• Access the Zoom and Microsoft Teams meeting controls with the Collaboration Touchpad
• Customize the display modes and color profiles to match your viewing preferences
• Access and secure your computer based on your physical presence
• Download and redeem the applications purchased with your computer

How do you install Dell Optimizer?

Remove any older applications

The installation of Dell Optimizer 6.0 or newer removes the older versions of any related applications.

Install from the Dell Support site

Download the latest version available of the Dell Optimizer Application. To download and install the application see:

Auto-Update (From MyDell ARM and Dell Optimizer on ARM only)

Your computer automatically updates to Dell Optimizer without any action on your part if you have the MyDell on ARM or Dell Optimizer on ARM application installed.

End of Life and End of Support dates for Dell legacy applications

After the End of Life date, an application will no longer receive security patches, bug fixes, or feature improvements. If you use an application after the end of life date, you may experience security vulnerabilities and performance issues.

After the End of Support date, applications will no longer be available for download and will no longer be supported by Dell.

To uninstall legacy applications from your computer, follow the steps below

1. Select  Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.

1. Find the app you want to remove, then select More … > Uninstall.

How does this version compare with the older software?

Click the feature that you want to compare between the older versions of MyDell and Dell Optimizer and the new Dell Optimizer. The tables all contain a column named Alternatives. It shows if and where you can get the functionality for features that are not available in the new application:
