org.apache.catalina.connector.ClientAbortException: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Connection has been shutdown: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: SSL peer shut down incorrectly

Cause

The bundle is uploaded from a jump box with an unstable network.

ERROR [tomcat-http--13] CustomAuthenticationEntryPoint.commence:76 - Error code id for authentication failure: 202
ERROR [tomcat-http--5] RestErrorHandler.handleExceptionInternal:81 - Handling exception for request ServletWebRequest: uri=/extension/mystic/virtualAppliance/1/upgradePkg/upload;client=x.x.x.x;user=administrator@vsphere.local
org.springframework.web.multipart.MultipartException: Could not parse multipart servlet request; nested exception is org.xxxxx.fileupload.FileUploadBase$IOFileUploadException: Processing of multipart/form-data request failed. SSL peer shut down incorrectly
These error messages indicate that there was an issue with the SSL connection, which was shut down incorrectly, causing the upload process to fail.

Resolution

To resolve the issue of uploading the upgrade package failing without any errors displayed in the GUI, follow these steps:

  • Either fix the networking issue or upload the bundle from one of the VMs hosted locally on that site.
