Symptoms


Tämä koskee VAAI UNMAP -liitännäisen ongelmaa, poistotilaa ei tueta:

[root@ESXi:/] esxcli storage core device vaai status get -d naa.<WWN>

   Clone Status: supported
   Zero Status: supported
   Delete Status: unsupported <<<<<<<<<


The UNMAP feature became available for Unity arrays from VPLEX 6.0 Service Pack 1. So, must confirm if the VPlex is running on the correct version code that supports UNMAP.

But, when the VPlex is running on the version that supports the UNMAP feature for Unity, the UNMAP feature reports unsupported. The use of UNMAP is limited to Thin provisioned volumes. So, need to check if the the LUNs are thin provisioned or not:

Cause

VPlexissä toimiva versio ei tue Unityn unmap-ominaisuutta. 

TAI

Jos VPlex toimii versiossa, joka tukee UNMAP-ominaisuutta Unitylle, syynä on se, että LUNit on valmisteltu paksusti tai LUN:t on ohut Unity-levyjärjestelmässä, mutta VPlex-virtuaaliaseman thin-enabled-ominaisuus on poistettu käytöstä.

Resolution

Jos VPlex ei ole käynnissä versiossa, joka tukee UNMAP-ominaisuutta Unitylle. Asiakas päivittää VPlexin versioon 6.0 SP 1, joka tukee ohutta UNMAPia.

Muuten,

tarkistaa VPlexistä:

1. tarkista, pystyykö VPlexiin varattu tallennustila ohueksi:

3. Ota ohutominaisuus käyttöön virtuaalilevyasemassa, jos se on poistettu käytöstä:

4. Tarkista tallennus ESXi-palvelimelta. Se voidaan tehdä sekä komentorivin että VCenterin kautta.
