Avamar SQL login credentials automatically populated and can't be deleted

Summary: In some circumstances, a customer that is creating or editing an SQL backup dataset through the AUI (web interface) will encounter a situation where the SQL login credential fields are prepopulated. Removing the credentials and saving the dataset does not resolve the issue, as going back into the dataset shows that the credentials are still present. Symptoms

Any of the following may be indicative of this issue:
  • Backups failing with 
    avsql Error <14307>: Credentials for SQL authentication must not be specified when NT authentication is selected
  • SQL login ID and SQL password fields in the dataset are populated without user input
    • The SQL login ID is MCUser or another Avamar user account nameAvamar UI edit dataset screen
  • Reviewing the dataset after removing the credentials shows that the credentials are again populated
 

Cause

If the user saves their login credentials from the main Avamar login screen using Firefox Lock wise, those credentials automatically populate the SQL login credentials fields under Show advanced options in the SQL backup dataset. This only happens if the user views the settings under Show advanced options in the dataset.

Resolution

NOTE: The remedy below will permanently delete the saved Avamar login credentials.


To remedy this issue, select the Options icon in the upper right corner of the Firefox window, and select Logins and Passwords.

From the Logins and Passwords screen, select the saved Avamar login credentials, and click Remove.

NOTE: Using a private window does not resolve the issue. To get around the issue, you must remove the credentials from Firefox Lock wise.
