Symptoms

Configuring Disaster Recovery in PowerProtect Data Manager

When configuring Disaster Recovery and selecting the **Enable Replication** option in the PowerProtect Data Manager UI, the System Job launches and fails with the error:

Cause

Target Protection Storage System Configuration

The Target Protection Storage System has Port 22 blocked.

  1. Port 22 is typically used for SSH connections.
  2. Blocking this port may affect remote access to the system.
  3. Ensure that alternative access methods are available if needed.

Resolution

Configuring Port 22 on the Target Protection Storage System

Configure Port 22 to be opened on the Target Protection Storage System. Both Protection Storage Systems Source and Target require Port 22 to be opened.

  1. Open Port 22 on the Target Protection Storage System to ensure proper communication.
  2. Verify that Port 22 is also open on the Source Protection Storage System, as it is a requirement for both systems.
