Symptoms

VxRail Manager rapporterar ett fel vid försök att stoppa vxrail-platform-service på en nyligen tillagd nod.

  • Uppgiften avbryts med fel "Failed to stop vxrail-platform-service service!".
  • Loggposter anger att begäran om stopp för plattformstjänsten inte kunde nå noden.
  • Det underliggande felmeddelandet är ip address not reachable.

Cause

ICMP-trafik blockeras mellan VxRail Manager och de nya noderna. Expansionslogiken använder ICMP-begäranden för att verifiera nodens nåbarhet. När ICMP filtreras kan hanteraren inte bekräfta nodens närvaro, vilket leder till "ip address not reachable" fel och oförmåga att stoppa vxrail-platform-service på den nya noden.

 

Resolution

Tillåt ICMP mellan VxRail Manager och nya noder, åtminstone tills noderna har lagts till i klustret.
