Instructions
When Avamar requires that a snapshot be created or deleted, it waits for a response from VMware for a predefined time before timing out.
- The proxy will, by default, attempt to connect to a REST API service on the Avamar Utility Node called the snapshot manager to create and delete snapshots.
- The default proxy timeout for communicating to this service is 60,000 msec or 60 seconds.
- The parameter is
[avvcbimage]snapshotManager_https_timeout
- The parameter is
- If the proxy does an HTTP POST telling the snapshot manager to delete or create a snapshot and does not get a response back within 60 s, it assumes that the task has failed.
To increase the timeout from the default, edit the file /usr/local/avamarclient/var/avvcbimageAll.cmd on the proxy, and add the following entry:
--snapshotManager_https_timeout=<new-value-in-msec>
Note: The maximum is 120,000 msec or 120 seconds.
