Symptoms

A general error in networking configuration service (0xE0EFF0A00005) is encountered under the following condition:
Storage network reconfiguration is performed on iSCSI interfaces on the same subnet, without changing the gateway IP address

Cause

Due to an issue during network reconfiguration workflow when changing Storage IPs without changing Getaway IP, the Storage IP may become inaccessible until node reboot. That in turn may lead to inability to perform next storage IP reconfiguration operations after the issue occurred.

Resolution

This issue is fixed on PowerStore 2.x.

To avoid running into this issue, split modifying the Storage IPs in the same subnet without changing Gateway IP in two stages:

  1. Change the Storage IPs to the desired one and change the Gateway IP to a new fake IP that is different than the current one. Do this inside a single network reconfiguration operation.
  2. After the first step successfully completed, change the fake Gateway IP back to the original one as the second network reconfiguration operation.

If the issue occurred contact Technical Support.

Permanent fix:
Recommend upgrading to PowerStore 2.0.0.0 or greater which has a fix for the issue discussed in this article.
