Summary: Benign event, applicable only to scratch processing for Dynamic Data Retention Library (DDRL) volumes at DLm V5.4.0.0 and later firmware releases. Symptoms

The following message sequence is observed in btilog, and where the file system name is different in DLm0501E vs. DLm3451E):

DLm0440I: Device <addr> scratch volume <volser> (/tapelibXXXXXX/DD1_FSB_FS2/<scratch volser>) mounted
…
DLm0500I: Scratch of volume <volser> requested by host via device <addr>, dsn=<DSN17>
DLm0501I: Volume <volser> (/tapelibXXXXXX/DD1_FSA_FS1/<volser>) scratched and erased
DLm3451E: Device *SCRATCH: Internal error while writing tape statistics for <volser> (SCRATCH): unable to stat tape file /tapelibXXXXXX/DD1_FSB_FS2/<volser>: No such file or directory

Resolution

This is a benign event.
The scratch and erase processing completes successfully. Only statistical information for the scratch and erase event is not recorded. This is a new statistic in V5.4.0.0 and later releases.

This is under DLm Engineering review to be addressed in a later DLm firmware release.
