Symptoms
Reviewing the rack power draw, there is an imbalance in power between the redundant PDUs the rack is connected to.
Cause
By default, PowerScale nodes use a HotSpare power supply configuration. One power supply is active; the second power supply runs in standby mode. At certain intervals, the node switches the power supply states to balance wear in the hardware.
This configuration is more energy efficient than running the power supplies in active/active mode.
Resolution
This is operating as designed, and nothing must be done. If data center requirements are that the nodes run in active/active configuration, contact support and provide this KB article number.
