Symptoms

VNIC(Virtual Network Interface Controller)를 사용하여 동일한 엔드포인트에 있는 두 VM 간에 데이터를 전송하는 경우 속도가 1Gbps를 초과할 수 있습니다.

운영 체제는 VNIC를 1Gbps로 보고합니다.

Cause

NativeEdge VNIC에는 속도가 고정되어 있지 않습니다. 소프트웨어에서 네트워크 인터페이스를 구현하여 네트워크, CPU, 가상화 호스트의 메모리 로드 및 트래픽에 따라 가능한 가장 빠른 속도를 달성합니다. 

Resolution

VNIC의 실제 처리량을 평가하려면 다음을 수행합니다.

  • 두 VM 간이나 VM과 외부 호스트 간에 iperf 또는 netperf와 같은 벤치마킹 툴을 사용합니다.
    이 방법을 사용하면 실제 워크로드에서 달성할 수 있는 네트워크 대역폭을 보다 현실적으로 볼 수 있습니다.
