RecoverPoint: Unable to edit Group Set

Symptoms

Attempt to change (add or remove) the groups within a Group Set.

In the RecoverPoint UI, users are unable to modify the Group Set (removing or adding groups to a Group Set).

The config_group_set_settings command also fails to add or remove groups from a Group Set.

Cause

By design, if a Group Set is configured with the Enable Parallel Bookmarking option, then users can no longer edit the Group Set settings.
This limitation includes:

  • Adding a group or groups to a Group Set
  • Removing a group or groups from a Group Set
  • Disabling the Enable Parallel Bookmarking option

Resolution

Workaround:

Delete the Group Set and create a new Group Set with the required groups.

Note: A Group Set has a maximum of 32 Groups.
