Symptoms

This error indicated that an Ethernet port is uninitialized.

Cause

  • This typically indicates a configuration issue between the Dell UnityVSA and the underlying physical ESXi server.

  • As the Dell UnityVSA is a Virtual Machine (VM) running on a physical ESXi server, the Ethernet Port of the Dell UnityVSA is provided through the underlying ESXi server.

Resolution

  1. Identify the Ethernet Port having issues: UI > System View

  2. Verify the status (link up or link down) of that Ethernet Port: UI > Settings > Access > Ethernet
